Freya is a 3 year old cattle dog that recently started becoming reactive and aggressive. There were moments that caused that embarrassment feeling when out walking with her, I felt extremely frustrated with her. Trainers before told me we only needed to work on confidence training, once her confidence was up she was wouldn’t react. So wrong. Taylor came in, showed me tools and the proper use of them to assist in getting Freya to a state of calm when being near dogs and people. Before training with Taylor, she would airsnap and lunge toward some dogs she’s known her whole life.. and it was getting worse. Let me tell you, she’s learned to make better decisions and that she’s safe. I feel like she’s learned to trust me to lead her in the right direction. You will doubt yourself, wonder if you wasted your money, might even kick yourself for not using the tools yourself but after my last session, I can’t beleive I even questioned it. Absolutely worth having someone show you how to utilize the tools in daily life and with training. This past week Freya has been able to be near dogs in a busy line-up, near kids running/screaming, and high energy dogs with no reaction. I never would have been able to achieve such milestones without Mango Dogs. Taylor was amazing at walking me through my own behaviours that lead to freyas, as well as touching on explanations for the behaviours she’s had. It’s such relief knowing I have the greatest support, any question you have they will answer or find it out for you.. I can now trust Freya to be a dog, and I can continue to give her the best life knowing she’s going to make better decisions. Cannot thank Mango Dogs enough!!! P.S. this is not for someone who isn’t going to put in the work, they train the dog & the human to work together. Your dog puts in the work, you need to also. Work on what you learn and you’ll see amazing progress!!

K-Line

I work with a Belgian Malinois named K-line, who was basically a one-dog whirlwind of reactivity: cars, bikes, leaves… you name it, she barked at it. We started training when she was about six months old, and I quickly realized this wasn’t about training her… it was about training me to be a better handler.
